I spent approximately five years in Colorado Springs.
I really enjoy the change of seasons, gorgeous landscape and opportunity for outdoor activities. No matter what the weather brings, there is something exciting to do. I often hiked, cycled, kayaked, skied and swam. From sports and fitness to shopping and restaurants, the area offers a tremendous diversity. I had no desire to move away. However, I was offered a job on the other side of the country that I simply couldn’t turn down. The position provided a significant increase in pay, more vacation time and amazing benefits. It included greater upward mobility and notoriety. The downside was the need to relocate immediately. There was barely enough time to pack up my belongings and make the drive to my new city. It was difficult to make new living arrangements. I searched out apartments on the internet and rented one after a virtual tour. I also needed to sell my house in Colorado Springs. I really didn’t want the upkeep or expense of maintaining it when I would be living so far away. When I considered contacting a real estate agent and pursuing a conventional listing, I realized that it would be next to impossible to close before I was forced to leave. I couldn’t imagine flying back and forth to handle the sale of the house. What if there were contingencies or negotiations? What if the sale was delayed? What if the home inspection turned up problems? Instead of all that stress and hassle, I decided to go with a cash home buyer. I worked with a local company that was wonderful. They expedited every stage of the process. I was able to avoid inspections, appraisals, showings and repairs. I wasn’t even expected to clean the house before I left.
